AN OUTDOOR LIGHT SHOW
Since January 1, 2009, the Ars Electronica Center (AEC) in Linz in Upper Austria is enveloped in one of Europe’s largest illuminated facades. On the occasion of the launch of Linz’ year as the European Capital of Culture, 40,000 LEDs lit up and animated the entire shell* of the building.
The building surface with 1,100 glass elements provides a communications platform for the museum and is unique with regard to its size and possibilities. For example, the AEC is able to invite artists from all over the world to simply feed in their programs via an interface.
