AUSTRIA'S LEADING COMPANIES

On October 12, 2009, the “Wirtschaftsblatt” daily, the KSV1870 creditor protection agency and PriceWaterhouseCoopers Austria revealed their choice of the best companies among the national business elite. Enterprises are assessed over a period of several years on the basis of their balance sheet statistics, income statements and size. Prizes are then awarded in the “Big Player”, “Golden Middle-Sized Company” and “Solid Small Company” categories.

Some 600 businesspersons were invited to the Hofburg in Vienna, in order to applaud the winners. Among those offering congratulations were the president of the Austrian parliament,

Barbara Prammer, the head of the Confederation of Austrian Industry, Veit Sorger, Hans Jörg Schelling, Brigitte Jank and Herwig Höllinger from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and the president of the Austrian Business Association and member of the Vienna City Council, Friedrich Strobl.
