The winning project at the Green Building Awards 2008 in Cannes is packed with Austrian know-how
For four days in March, the Southern French film metropolis Cannes annually becomes the focal point of the real estate branch with the holding of the MIPIM, one of the world’s largest platforms for commercial property and company locations. One highlight of this event is the allocation of the coveted MIPIM-Awards and 2008 saw the introduction of a new prize in the shape of the “Green Buildings” category for exemplary ecological building. The architect Trude Hooykaas and the project developer ING Real Estate were awarded the prize for their Crane Track office complex in Amsterdam, which also picked up the Special Jury Award.
The Upper Austrian company, GIG ELEMENTS, a subsidiary of the GIG HOLDING in Attnang was also involved in this project, as its patented lamella facade system, “glastec louvres” for the object and housing sector, was employed for the further energy optimization of the building.
