VÖCKLA AWARD 2007

VÖCKLA AWARD 2007

On September 17, 2007, the Lenzing Cultural Centre provided the venue for the BTV Gala and the presentation of the Vöckla Awards. Some 400 guests from the political, business and social areas were present to witness the collection of the coveted trophies. Prominent figures handed the awards to the winning companies and individuals in eleven categories.

Business prizes were awarded in two categories. One consisted of companies with up to 49 employees (won by Neudorfer Wärmepumpen Regau-Rutzenmoos) and the other of companies with over 50 employees, in which the winner was GIG from Attnang-Puchheim.

The decisive factor in GIG’s victory was the extremely positive development of the company in recent years, which saw an increase in annual sales revenues from EUR 39.4 million in the 2005/06 financial year to EUR 45.8 million in 2006/07. Staff numbers also rose sharply from 175 to 198 on March 31, 2007.

The basis for this strong growth was provided by major orders from the companies core markets in the UK, Ireland and Austria (e.g. first passive house high-rise facade for the Energie AG group headquarters in Linz) and from special markets such as Kazakhstan

(Rachat Towers in Almaty).
