The new city hall in Benidorm, one of Spain’s most famous and best-loved holiday resorts on the Costa Blanca, was opened in 2003. The 100m-long building, which is extremely interesting from an architectural perspective, rests on just four supports. It spans a piazza  and as a “horizontal skyscraper” offers an exciting contrast to the rest of the urban skyline, which is characterized by high-rise blocks.
