AGPB Award 2026 Recognition

GIG Fassaden has been awarded the Austrian Green Planet Building Award 2026 in the Technology category for the “90 Long Acre” project in London. The award recognizes projects that set new standards through sustainable planning, technological innovation, and architectural quality.

With “90 Long Acre,” the former 1970s office building “The Acre” was comprehensively revitalized and transformed into a modern, sustainable office building. Around 80 percent of the existing building structure was retained, making a significant contribution to resource-efficient urban development.

Particular recognition was given to the innovative building envelope featuring highly precise unitized façade elements, as well as the project’s sustainable energy concept. The combination of technological innovation, energy-efficient planning, and advanced façade engineering makes “90 Long Acre” an international benchmark for contemporary revitalization projects.

Order Received: Expansion of EUROPARK Salzburg

GIG has been awarded the contract for the expansion of EUROPARK Salzburg. The project continues the original architectural concept developed by Massimiliano Fuksas in the 1990s.

As part of the expansion, GIG will be responsible for adapting and extending the existing façade architecture with the aim of achieving a seamless and visually identical appearance—naturally in compliance with all current standards and regulations.

GIG’s compelling concept forms the basis for this renewed collaboration and thus makes a further contribution to the architectural and structural development of EUROPARK Salzburg.

The successful re-certification highlights GIG’s consistent commitment to responsible and future-oriented practices.

Pohn Management takes full ownership of GIG Holding

With effect from May 7, 2025, Pohn Management GmbH has acquired all shares in GIG Holding GmbH from IFN Holding AG. The globally active façade construction company based in Attnang-Puchheim is now wholly owned by Adi Pohn, who has been closely associated with GIG for around 35 years and is now returning to the management board in an operational role. Adi Pohn emphasizes the importance of a clear strategic focus: the façade business is strongly project-driven, and all areas of the company must be consistently aligned toward reliable and high-quality project execution.

Christian Klinger, co-owner and company spokesperson of IFN Holding, explains that IFN will focus in the future on its core competencies in the areas of windows, doors, sun protection, and façade products. The international large-scale façade project business is highly complex and requires specialized expertise, making it all the more pleasing to place GIG in experienced hands.

The acquisition represents an important step in the sustainable further development of GIG Holding within the Pohn Group.
