New Bond Street – St. George Street, London

New Bond Street – St. George Street, London

Prestige Façade in Prime Location.

This project involves the renovation of a building block, where various sections and façades are listed, while others were completely demolished. The façades of the resulting infill buildings were designed, produced, and installed by GIG. These are predominantly unitized façades of the GIG 94 series, which blend into the appearance of the surrounding buildings on the main streets of New Bond Street and Maddox Street. The visually defining components of the façades are bay windows and glazed terracotta on New Bond Street, as well as glass blocks and aluminium cladding on Maddox Street. The building with the largest usable area is in the courtyard of the block and is not visible from the outside. This building also features GIG 94 series unitized façades with timber, stainless steel, and aluminium curtain walls.

Due to the exclusive location of the building—New Bond Street is the most expensive shopping street in London—with correspondingly high rental prices, and as a result the steel structure was set to the outer edges of the building to gain valuable space. This presented a significant challenge, as our unitized façades were repeatedly interrupted by the steel structure.
